RSS feeds help to create content rated Splog
In the previous post about bad spammers I talked about some experimented spammers, but today I noticed something special which are "new spammers" , which came with new idea, new blogs and new techniques which are not detected as splogs
Such blogs make small effort, which I consider human so they escape easily AntiSplog detection. Other have been just started with a single post per page some AdSense banners. Others are using some specefic keywords and few posts per page or lot of posts and I'll tell you more how this one is working.
I don't know what should I say about new spammers, but the experimented ones are using automated techniques to make their content very special. After some investiguation I discovered how it's working. The technique is simply allowing to merge two or more RSS feeds based on search results and that's enough content !
This is one of the bad usage of RSS of search, while its used to monitor some news, articles, ... etc. Its used also to feed splogs with content. I was wondering how those sblogs were working, while It looks for me like they are making some efforts to find content [and they did].
Cerise sur le gateau, the more we offer facilities, the more we saw people abusing these facilities. For example in the TOS of Google News Feeds you can read : "We invite you to make noncommercial use of Google's RSS and Atom feeds on your website subject to these terms [...]". While those spammers are not only against google TOS, but also using Google AdSense to make money from them.
The smart ones will use google to get content and YPN to make money and so on ... but as soon as they are detected, it won't take time to AntiSplog to detect them as sploggers also.
